Goldwater's Foods of Arizona was founded in 1989 by Joanne Goldwater, Peggy Goldwater Clay arizona senator and Carolyn Ross, the daughters arizona senator and granddaughter of former Senator Barry Goldwater. Prior to co-creating Goldwater's Foods, Peggy had her own line of specialty salad dressings under the label "Peggy Jane's Special Products". Joanne Goldwater was also previously involved in the food business for 10 years with her own successful catering company in Scottsdale, Arizona. She was later joined by her daughter Carolyn Ross, who is now the President of Goldwater's Foods of Arizona. Goldwater's Foods originated the "Fruit Salsa" in 1989 with their innovative Paradise Pineapple Salsa. This award-winning salsa has been the inspiration for the other salsas in their line.
